Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how IdealEstate.co collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the www.idealestate.co website ("Site").

We may collect two general types of information when you use the Site:

Personally Identifying Information (“PII”): PII is information that identifies Users, such as name, address, phone number, email address, user id, financial information, demographic information, behavioral information, and location. When Users engage with the Site and its content through third-party sites, plug-ins or applications, we may have access to certain information from Users’ social media profile, such as name, photo, gender, birthday, location, videos, list of friends, etc. This information is included in the definition of PII.

Non-Personally Identifying Information (“Non-PII”): Non-PII includes information about how Users interact with our site, such as type of device used to access the Site, type of browser and operating system, web sites visited, Site pages visited, and the computer ID address, but which does not identify individual Users. This policy does not apply to Non-PII and does not limit or restrict our collection or use of Non-PII.

How We Collect Information

We do not collect PII from Users unless they voluntarily submit such information to us. We may request and collect PII from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the Site, create a profile, facilitate a transaction, express interest in a real estate property, share real estate, connect to other users and professionals, subscribe to a newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, or in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users can always refuse to supply PII, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site-related activities. In addition, an employer or entity utilizing the Site may furnish PII about their staff, employees or contractors who are making use of the Site.

In addition to information provided directly by you, we (and third parties that offer features through the Site) may collect non-PII through the use of "cookies," "web beacons," "Flash cookies" or by other electronic means. We use "cookies" in order to enhance User experience. A User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you them when cookies are being sent. Please be aware that certain functionality on the Site may require that “cookies” be enabled.

We will retain the PII you provide so long as your account with the Site exists. Even after your account is close, we will retain your personal data to the extent reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce the Terms of Service, or fulfill your request to “unsubscribe” from further messages from us. We will retain Non-PII after your account has been closed.

How We Use Information

We may use User information for the following purposes:

To authenticate the identity of the User in order to facilitate and authorize access to the Site and its services.

To personalize user experience. We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.

To improve our Site. We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from Users.

To improve customer service. User information helps us to more effectively respond to customer service requests and support needs.

To provide Users with invitations and other communications promoting the Site, its growth and engagement with the Site and its features.

To create and manage User accounts and ensure compliance with the Terms of Use.

To create information aggregations that do not personally identify the User but provide statistics concerning the Site’s Users in general (such as profession or industry, ad impressions served, demographic distributions

To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other Site feature. To send Users information they agree to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.

To deploy automated software scripts, applications or similar tools to perform certain automated tasks including emailing users, initiating chats, and taking other automated actions to stimulate conversation and engagement with the Site.

To send emails to Users. We may send emails to Users who provide their email address when they create an IdealEstate account with information or updates regarding their accounts, transactions, and interests, such as home suggestions that match their profiles or professionals who may assist them. If at any time a User would like to unsubscribe from or change the frequency of future emails, Users can set their preferences accordingly.

To process transactions. We may use the information that Users provide to process User-requested transactions.

As necessary to protect, further and enhance the security of the Site and to investigate and resolve possible fraud or violations of the Terms of Use or this Privacy Policy.

How We Share Information With Third Parties

We do not share PII that we collect through the Site with third parties except as explained in this policy or on the Site.

We may share PII that a User provides as needed to process a transaction requested by that User, such as financial information.

We may share PII that you give us consent to share, such as by opting in to receive certain products or services.

We may share PII with service providers who assist us in the operation of the Site (e.g. analysis, audit, payment tracking, fraud investigation/detection, maintenance, marketing) to enable them to provide such services. Such providers are obligated not to disclose or use PII for other purposes.

We may share PII that Users provide in connection with real estate and associated services on the Site, including by sharing that information with third-parties located in the United States or elsewhere.

We may disclose PII when we believe in good faith that (1) we are required by law or do so, such as in responding to legal process or lawful requests from law enforcement; (2) it is necessary to prevent, investigate, or address (a) possible illegal activities, including fraud, (b) violation of our Terms of Use, (c) violation of this policy, or (d) threats to the physical safety of any person; or (3) it is necessary to protect our rights or property. We have the sole discretion to dispute demands made by governmental authorities for PII if and when we believe such demands are vague, unauthorized or overbroad. We do not commit or promise to challenge all such demands.

We may share PII in connection with negotiations or consummation of any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition and in the event of a bankruptcy, insolvency, receivership or in any other situation where PII may be disclosed or transferred as one of our business assets. Any party which buys the Site or all or any part of company will have the right to continue to use the Users PII, subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Some User activity on the Site, including content that Users post, is public by default. Users should not submit information in connection with such activities that they do not want to be made publicly available.

How We Protect User Information

We adopt commercially reasonable data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site. Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.

However, no system can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take commercially reasonable steps to secure User information, we do not promise or warrant, and you cannot expect, that your PII, searches or other communications always will remain secure. In the event of a breach of the confidentiality or security of PII, we will notify you if reasonably possible and as reasonably necessary so that you can take appropriate protective steps using the using the e-mail address(es) we have on record for you.

Third-Party Websites

Users may find content on our Site that links to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. After Users leave our Site, this privacy policy will no longer apply to PII or any other data collected from or provided by Users to such third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Real Estate Information

IdealEstate strives to provide open and transparent information about real estate markets. For example, we make available past sales prices for homes, and allow any user to post a question or answer about a given home. Many times, this information is already publicly available. As long as discussion surrounds real estate and not individuals, we intend to keep this information freely available through the Services. Where a professional participates in the IdealEstate communities, we may also allow users to comment on the professional.

Job Seeker Information

If you are a job seeker, we will share your personal data with prospective employers if you respond to a job posting through IdealEstate. Note: to the extent that you have a profile with IdealEstate, please ensure that your profile is up-to-date so when you apply for a job through the IdealEstate website, the employer receives your most recent information. You will have an account with IdealEstate if you created an account yourself through the IdealEstate website. You can update your profile by going to the ‘Profile’ settings in your account.

You may receive email alerts from time to time related to activity on IdealEstate. Those alerts may include activity related to your profile, listings, business services, or job opportunities. You can opt-out of receiving these notification emails at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email you may receive or by updating your settings in your general profile settings.

Compliance with Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

Protecting the privacy of children is especially important to us. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Site from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is directed to or intended for use by anyone under 13. Children under 13 should not use or submit any information through the Site. If you are under the age of 13, you only may use the Site with permission from your parents or guardians.

Users From Outside the United States

This Site is hosted in the United States and is governed by U.S. law. If Users are using the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that such information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States where we locate and operate our servers and databases. By using the Site, Users consent to the transfer of your information to our facilities and to the facilities of those third parties wherever located with whom we share information as described in this policy.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

IDEALESTATE.CO has the right and discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Your Acceptance of These Terms

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy and the Terms of Use for this Site. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
